What is the definition of code P0176?

Code P0176 means that there is a malfunction on the fuel composition sensor circuit.

What the P0176 Code Means

When the engine control module (ECM) detects an abnormal signal from the engine’s sensor for flex fuel, then the system will trigger the resulting trouble code of P0176.

The main objective of sensors for flex fuels is to make it possible to measure the level of ethanol that is contained in the gasoline inside an engine of a flexible fuel vehicle (FFV).
